Provincial Programs

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The Provincial Nominee Program allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate and settle in a specific province. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an ITA.

Two Ways to Apply Through PNP

Enhanced PNP (Express Entry)

Apply through a province's Express Entry-aligned stream. If nominated, you receive +600 CRS points and are virtually guaranteed an ITA in the next draw.

  • Faster processing (6 months)
  • +600 CRS points
  • Must have Express Entry profile
  • Electronic application

Base PNP (Non-Express Entry)

Apply directly to a province's non-Express Entry stream. If nominated, you apply for PR through a separate paper-based process.

  • Longer processing (12-18 months)
  • No Express Entry profile needed
  • Different eligibility criteria
  • Paper-based application

How Enhanced PNP Works

1

Create Express Entry Profile

Submit your profile to the Express Entry pool (FSW, CEC, or FST program).

2

Express Interest in a Province

Indicate which provinces you're interested in within your Express Entry profile, or apply directly to a province's EE-aligned stream.

3

Receive Notification of Interest (NOI)

A province may send you an NOI if your profile matches their labour market needs.

4

Apply to the Province

Submit a complete application to the province within the deadline (usually 60 days).

5

Get Nominated → +600 CRS Points

Once nominated, your CRS score increases by 600 points. You'll receive an ITA in the next draw.
